DAY THIRTY
MORNING VERSE:
“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and
acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their
faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:3)
EVENING VERSE:
“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we
esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he
was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our
iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us
peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5)
MEDITATION
Your Christ has entered into every weakness,
vulnerability and pain. There is nothing that you are feeling that
he has not felt deeply. Do you grieve? He knows it well. Are you
afflicted? He was afflicted more. Are you crushed by the weight
and guilt of your sin? So was He. Are you sick? His wounds heal
you. Stop hiding your weakness. Stop pretending you are okay.
Bring yourself to the Lord, without hiding, and allow the Lamb of
God to minister his touch to you. He promises you peace, healing
and wholeness in every area of your life.
